This watercolor is a variation of \u201cChief Mountain I\u201d. I tried to capture the wildness of this eastern side of the park, especially the winds around it. There has never been a time that we have approached the park from the east side that the wind didn\u2019t wreak havoc with your hand- held photography or just getting out of your vehicle and standing upright. I think when I ventured west over fifty years ago, I found my true nature and what I love to see and where I like to spend my time. Painting is my passion and I have found that, even with cold, forbidding winters, it allows one to \u201ccatch up\u201d in the studio on all the subjects you wish you could have painted in warmer months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
