There is a place we like to camp in the Bernice area. One of the spots is near Cottonwood Creek, and I like walking down in the willows to find a spot to paint on the Creekside. It is quiet and protected, although once I heard some crashing sounds in the willows, only to find that it was not a bear coming down for water but a small herd of yearlings. The morning sun is welcome for the warmth and the birds come out for a drink and a bath. I noticed all the roots across the stream in the bank and thought the blue spruce, rocks and roots might make an interesting painting.
