My thistle series brought me years of inspiration. I enjoy the shapes and textures of the tall, thorny plants. In a world of ranchers, I may be alone in liking this plant, as otherwise, it is thought of as a “noxious weed”. Handling any part of it, I would have to agree with that assessment. Yet, using arbitrary colors, it provides endless experimentation in composition.
