Beyond the Windowsill

As a painter, it is fun to “push” the colors that you see in your subject. The pale greens and blues move into a lavender and purple in the shadows. A friend’s cabbage, still in her garden was used as a model. The leaves unfold and provide endless more variation in color, texture and shades. I like the sound of the French words “beaucoup de choucroute”, meaning “a lot of sauerkraut.”
