Fleecer dominates the landscape as one drives towards Divide. It is visible from I-15 and higher viewpoints in Butte and the surroundings. Oftentimes, one sees herds of elk grazing on its open areas. It is a popular with hikers, campers, snowmobilers, mountain bikers and ATV-ers. The viewpoint I took was from the opposite side of the highway, in an area called “Rocker John”. Not only elk, but moose, deer and other wildlife find their habitat in these surroundings.
